By the way, if the following sounds like advertising spiel, that's because it is. If you disagree with it being posted and have to flame someone, flame me - I'll cheerfully ignore you. I am in no way affiliated with Tantric - I just saw an article in Byte and found the email address. It's long, but read all the way through it and see just how much Micro$loth has blinkered the thinking of the general public. If this is on the market now, just think of what will be possible soon...

Blockchains are the new Linux, not the new internet | TechCrunch
Bitcoin is up sevenfold, to $2,500, in the last year. Three weeks ago the redoubtable Vinay Gupta, who led Ethereum's initial release, published an essay entitled "What Does Ether At $100 Mean?" Since then it has doubled. Too many altcoins to name have skyrocketed in value along with the Big Two. ICOs are raking in money hand over fist over bicep. What the hell is going on?

Bare the wealth
A Linux programmer builds a "wealth monitor" that tracks Red Hat's valuation and who's getting rich off free software.
Lots of awesome OS for the PDS posts flying around today, but what about a PDS in the OS? Here's a peek at the native Linux rewrite of @aetheros.computer, built on NixOS with PDS backed user accounts and experimental support for spaces. Still WIP, but stay tuned for more info later this year...
