Verifire — verify an atmosphere account (atproto handle) without login
Issue a one-time code, the user creates any record in their atproto repo (a Bluesky post, a Blacksky post, a custom record), Verifire spots it on the firehose and hands you back the DID and handle. No OAuth, no PDS calls.

The website of @atproto.science needs the same treatment as @atmosphereconf.org got, namely the ability to log in with atproto. To ‘Join the ATScience Community’ people are encouraged to sign up via a form: forms.atproto.science/join Makes more sense to solicit signups via atproto.

Our next @blackskyweb.xyz People's Assembly will have you login with your atproto account to participate. On login we'll match your handle/email/DID to our subscribers, open source supporters and check for Blacksky membership (in feed or blacksky.app) Badge + profile will show next to statements.
