Apps

also, I kinda feel like calling the things that consume atproto data "apps" does a disservice to understanding what they are / how they work / what their potential is. But that is a partially-formed hot take I can't fully defend yet.

I saw some talk about "everything apps" and it got me thinking a little bit about it. With the Atmosphere I feel like a really cool part about it is that we can make all of our apps "everything" apps. It's not "my app's data" or "your app's data" anymore. We can color outside the lines.

What are some apps on the Atmosphere that you’d want to see built that would benefit you as a healthcare worker or scientist?

So this is one of the cool things about apps in the Atmosphere. They have to declare what stuff in your account they're going to touch.

there’s only like 10 atmosphere apps that consistently have more than 50 active users on a typical day (based on lexicon activity)

Guys... GUYS, listen. I am begging you all to think bigger! The Atmosphere may be a fun space to explore how familiar services and apps interact—but it's still just social media. The protocol enables us to change behaviors and solve *systemic* problems It's the thing that gets us TO the thing.
