How do we embed, display, and render different Lexicons across the ATmosphere?
Web Tiles as the base for Lexicon Embeds
Now that @robin.berjon.com has released an initial spec and implementation of Web Tiles, we can see how we can use or extend this as a base for Lexicon Embeds. Lexicon Embeds is my label for how to have native ATProto content embed in different apps, from display all the way to interactivity— eg an event post in bsky with an RSVP button. Getting this as a general capability - and getting security and display right - means embeds can function in Leaflet and Bsky and anywhere else, rather than o...

Lexicons create a shared language for apps on the Atmosphere
In Which A Book Lexicon is Born
Hi everyone, We recently held a sync to discuss creating a shared book lexicon for the Atmosphere Protocol. I’ve shared the full recording (thanks Ronen!) and notes from the meeting here: Fathom with some early notes here: https://app.notion.com/p/Book-Lexicon-Session-1-211b2b43aabb8007b098d063972ca58c (also do we have a ATProto version of Notion yet?) The book logging social scene is highly fragmented. Dozens of Goodreads alternatives are competing but not interoperating, leading to a lack of...
Word embedding
In natural language processing, a word embedding is a representation of a word. The embedding is used in text analysis. Typically, the representation is a real-valued vector that encodes the meaning of the word in such a way that the words that are closer in the vector space are expected to be similar in meaning. Word embeddings can be obtained using language modeling and feature learning techniques, where words or phrases from the vocabulary are mapped to vectors of real numbers.

Taxonomy for ATmospheric Lexicon and App Directories
I kept going to pull quotes but just like, all of this. lol Something really basic like a taxonomy of concepts has the potential to skew heavily social, because at a technical level there’s almost nothing to it: you have an identity with some labels (synonyms, language-tagged strings—not sure how those’ll be implemented), you might have a definition, and then you have a handful of semantic relations, and the concept scheme class to yoke them together. (Again, I’m using SKOS as a template for th...

a mini proposal for a shared bookmark lexicon
Hey @danabra.mov, I’m working on a new labeler for arbitrary atproto records. I’d like lexicon owners to be able to suggest how to render their lexicons in the app. I’m thinking maybe @inlay.at components as sidecars?

I'm working on a new labeler software (i.e. an alternative to Ozone) and this really feels like the right way for these things to work. 😎 #atproto
