Our team has explored several ways to make permissioned posts possible. Now we’re bringing the decision back to the community. Below are three approaches to moderation: a machine-learning system that automates moderation, a large-scale peer moderator program, or a hybrid model that combines both. We’re inviting your feedback to help decide how we should govern privacy together.

Permissioned Data Shapes: Community-Moderated Content - Nick's Blog
A community can own spaces the way a person does: a club's members post to each other under a dedicated community DID, with a feed space for content, a moderation space for notes, a labels space for filtering, and a single app view as the only window into any of it.
Bluesky's Moderation Architecture | Bluesky
Moderation is a crucial aspect of any social network. However, traditional moderation systems often lack transparency and user control, leaving communities vulnerable to sudden policy changes and potential mismanagement. To build a better social media ecosystem, it is necessary to try new approaches.

Bluesky 2023 Moderation Report - Bluesky
We have hired and trained a full-time team of moderators, launched and iterated on several community and individual moderation features, developed and refined policies both public and internal, designed and redesigned product features to reduce abuse, and built several infrastructure components from scratch to support our Trust and Safety work.

Auto Moderation in Discord
Automated moderation can play a large role in rule enforcement and keeping your community safe even when there aren’t always eyes to do it for you.

Bluesky’s Stackable Approach to Moderation - Bluesky
Today, we’re open sourcing Ozone, a tool that lets a team of moderators or curators collaboratively review reports, create labels, and inspect content on the atproto network. Later this week, we’re opening up the ability for users to run their own independent moderation services.
