Atmosphere Account
One account for all your apps. Yours to keep, wherever you go.
The Atmospheric Apple of My Eye - Scott's Thoughts
Continuing down the line of a cross-app device level identity... what about Atmosphere accounts on iOS?
Atmosphere Account is now an Atmosphere App. What started as an account provider page is becoming an App Store-style registry for the Atmosphere: project profiles, discovery, screenshots, reviews, updates, and protocol-native records. Check out the explore page: atmosphereaccount.com/explore
Atmosphere Account
atmosphereaccount.comthis is a psa , if you visit a website that offers to let you sign in with atmosphere/bluesky you should click the little question mark in the top right. if it says "transition:generic", that app can do ANYTHING with the data in your account, short of dms and actually deleting/moving your account..
“In the atproto community, apps built on the protocol are called ‘Atmospheric.’ So: my website is now Atmospheric, and this post is about what that actually means.” @disnetdev.com said the thing! disnetdev.com/blog/an-atmospheric-website
An Atmospheric Website
www.disnetdev.comcalling all the "sign in with Atmosphere" freaks, check out @anisota.net's new login experience and tell me what you think — this isn't a flow or pattern i'd recommend for every app, but it is an example of an opinionated one for just this app! video attached, or try it for yourself: anisota.net
So this is one of the cool things about apps in the Atmosphere. They have to declare what stuff in your account they're going to touch.
ATStore
You find a cool new Atmosphere app. You click sign in. And then... a wall of permission requests you didn't expect. 😬 ATStore fixes that. Every app listing now has a "scopes" badge, tap it to see what the app will request before you ever log in. ⚠️ Requesting dangerous scopes? Get warned.
As a community I think we've focus of "what is an atmosphere account?" too much and "what can I do with it?" too little To help with that I've built ATStore, our App Store: - Browse all the Atmosphere Apps - Explore each App's ecosystem - Leave reviews and feedback - Star your favorites
at-store | The Atmosphere
atstore.fyiI think it’s time to elevate the Atmosphere branding as ‘your everything-account for the Internet’. Bluesky is not “the last social identity you’ll ever have to create”, your Atmosphere identity is. Bluesky = one of many Google apps Atmosphere = your Google account

my initial though is that if we expand the PDS account manager and have most major account actions take place there, it could help. eg, similar to how youtube would probably direct you to google accounts for full account deletion, and then it is clear that impact goes beyond youtube
Atmosphere account on iOS ... soon?
