The AT Protocol *is* fundamentally a social protocol. It’s literally in the design and the founding documents about the protocol. I have yet to be given a use case that isn’t social. Not one.

A coherent protocol punishes partial adoption. Hypothesis: Anyone who tries to merely piggyback onto ATProto for bandwagoning (eg. by using identity to hoover the social graph while trying to control data) will be outcompeted by those who fully embrace the protocol’s potential.

I know I’ve said this before and recently, but I’m over the skeuomorphic UX of Bluesky that makes it look and feel like a 20 year old social media app. I’m ready for new experiences for this kind of media/data. This information architecture is played out. Let’s try some new ideas with other clients.
