what is atproto?

relationship with atproto rapidly deteriorating as i descend into madness reading these specs

sometimes i think it’s unfortunate that the architectural mistake that mastodon is (flat hybrid hosting-index feudal “instances” telling each other what happened) has polluted the discourse so much that every atproto discussion on HN has to spend 80% of effort just undoing that damage

Why did you decide to bet on atproto over Mastodon or similar?

Inspired by @pds.dad 's AMA about #atproto over on #Mastodon ... AMA about #ActivityPub and the #Fediverse! No question is too basic! (If questions get beyond my knowledge I'll at least try to point you in the right direction 😃)

I'd say the best deep-dive comparing ActivityPub and atproto is this video by @thisismissem.social , who has gobs of experience with both: youtube.com/watch?v=BZgNMiw3lTY

i want to do a little ✨ ama about atproto ✨ in this thread. no question is too simple if you’ve been curious about atproto but don’t know much (anything?) about it, ask any question and i’ll try to explain it in my own words. (+ would love to hear from friends who aren’t very active on bsky)

everything is a nail and atproto is my hammer

My most controversial atproto take is that I don’t care that much about interoperability

This is your brain on ATProto
