Today I’m playing with an idea that’s been on my mind for too long: storing design systems tokens on the #Atmosphere My proof of concept works, and that Makes Me Happy™

Inside Design Tokens: Definitions & Traits
Over the past three years, I’ve researched design tokens for usage in Theemo and I’m sharing my discoveries in this article series.
Inside Design Tokens: Modeling & Communication
Design system architecture with focus on design tokens, that form the vocabulary of your visual design language, helping to streamline the communication amongst stakeholders. Modeling the system with boundaries to ensure clear purpose and predictability for design tokens and stability guarantees wit
Inside Design Tokens: The Three Class Token Society
Design tokens are often grouped based on their phenomenal reference sequence. From basic, over semantic to component tokens. This article compares this organization with a model based architecture and figures out the advantages and disadvantages.
Inside Design Tokens: The Hidden Knowledge
Tokens contain a lot of information and even more the relationship between tokens. Making sense of this information is the hidden knowledge living within tokens. Unlocking this knowledge is the next evolution step for design tokens.
Procedural Tokens — encoding design decisions
Most design tokens hold a value. The interesting ones hold a rule. A live walk from static refs to procedural tokens.
Inside Design Tokens: Features
Features encode user preferences, inherit behavior(s) and are communicated by several principals through agents. Design tokens may or may not support features.
Special Issue Editorial – Accumulation and Evolution of Design Knowledge in Design Science Research: A Journey Through Time and Space
Sir Isaac Newton (1676) famously said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Research is a collaborative, evolutionary endeavor—and it is no different with design science research (DSR), which builds upon existing design knowledge and creates new design knowledge to pass on to future projects. However, despite the vast, growing body of DSR contributions, scant evidence of the accumulation and evolution of design knowledge has been articulated in an organized DSR body of knowledge. Most contributions rather stand on their own feet than on the shoulders of giants, and this continues to limit how far we can see, curtailing the extent of the broader impacts that can be made through DSR. In this editorial, we aim at providing guidance on how to position design knowledge contributions in wider problem and solution spaces. We propose (1) a model conceptualizing design knowledge as a resilient relationship between problem and solution spaces, (2) a model that demonstrates how individual DSR projects consume and produce design knowledge, (3) a map to position a design knowledge contribution in problem and solution spaces, and (4) principles on how to use this map in a DSR project. We show how fellow researchers, readers, editors, and reviewers, as well as the IS community as a whole, can make use of these proposals, and also illustrate future research opportunities.
Inside Design Tokens: Token Specification
Design tokens become scalable when they are replicable. A token specification is a formula for achieving design tokens scalability and tools interoperability.

Inside Design Tokens: Put your Tokens on a Scale
Ever worked with a set of design tokens that are super inconsistent and hardly distinguishable? Perhaps a wrong scale? This article explains the available scales, their problems and what to use them for.
Designs for the pluriverse: radical interdependence, autonomy, and the making of worlds
"Arturo Escobar presents a new vision of design theory by arguing for the creation of what he calls 'autonomous design'--a design practice aimed at channeling design's world-making capacity toward ways of being and doing that are deeply attuned to justice and the Earth"--Publisher description

Our community has gathered around the concept of Atmosphere. There’s work to do in explaining, culture building, and the concrete task of rallying around a brand / logo, especially around login.

For anyone that has come to a meetup, event, or conference - it’s not faceless. As a community, our goal is to imbue the Atmosphere with feelings and alignment. Designing a logo and brand that grows to mean that is something we need to do together. No one company can carry our flag.
Inspired by @byarielm.fyi 's design, here's my draft concept for a universal #ATmosphere Account Creation + Sign-In flow. Focused on the simplest #UX , not visual design. multiple ways of understanding the atmosphere are good - you can store extra stuff in your bluesky account : good - an open file system for your social graph : good - an ocean of possibility created by freeing data from the clutches of big tech : good different approaches reach different people
