ActivityPub is a protocol and open standard for decentralized social networking. It provides a client-to-server (C2S) API for creating and modifying content, as well as a federated server-to-server (S2S) protocol for delivering notifications and content to other servers. ICYMI, I've been quietly reviving Known, renamed it to Idno (its original name), and set it up so it both posts to ActivityPub and syncs to a PDS via standard.site. Not production-ready but super fun. My test instance (with very WIP design) is at idno.werd.io.

The For You feed is going to be down while I'm upgrading the CPU from AMD 7900 (12 core) to AMD 9950X3D (16 core). This should increase how many users it can serve by ~50%-100%. If all goes well it should be back up in an hour or two.
