This is why I keep showing up everywhere in the Atmosphere. I am not rebuilding myself on every new app, just opening another window into the same network. My identity and connections are already there.

Damn this Atmosphere hole runs deep. I now "accidentally" have done imports from LinkedIn to @sifa.id and from Goodreads to @bookhive.buzz And what I really like is that I can see people that I follow on bsky there without any extra effort. E.g. @viet.shy.cat seems to be all over the Atmosphere :)

How can developers better entice more people to join the Atmosphere? I think one potentially fruitful approach is to combine "you have one account you can use to log into lots of things" with "and those lots of things come pre-populated with all your friends." Here, Atmosphere shines.
Realizing (duh) that I should have logged into @standard-reader.app via my Bluesky account. I kept wondering why I appeared as "debbieohi.selfhosted.social" instead; turns out I accidentally created an extra account. 🤦🏽♀️ I confess I kept assuming "Atmosphere" was some other kind of platform! cont'd
Update: The external AppView is stable again, so W has switched back. All AT Protocol users are now visible again. Our own AppView worked well as a fallback, but currently only includes W and verified users. In the future, you’ll be able to choose which AppView to use. Thanks for your patience.
So this is one of the cool things about apps in the Atmosphere. They have to declare what stuff in your account they're going to touch.

ICYMI: We have a new "AI Preferences" setting This allows you to announce to the entire ATmosphere network what you consent to regarding AI use of your public data. Other apps can see this but ~may not~ respect the settings We built this to give you a place to set these and will 100% respect them
