Hey folks, we just launched the atproto spaces alpha. Check out the blog post for more details! Over the following weeks, we’ll be iterating on the specification and the implementation. In all likelihood, this will involve breaking changes to the PDS distribution, the Bluesky-hosted alpha PDS, and the alpha SDKs. The goal is to give new users an account on the atmosphere. Existing users will be happier sticking with the Bluesky PDS.
Lots of awesome OS for the PDS posts flying around today, but what about a PDS in the OS? Here's a peek at the native Linux rewrite of @aetheros.computer, built on NixOS with PDS backed user accounts and experimental support for spaces. Still WIP, but stay tuned for more info later this year...
