Feature / Product / Business: A Framework for Sustainable ATProto Projects | ATmosphereConf VODs
The ATProto community built a ton of great features and products over the past year! For our next trick, let's mature them into products and businesses. In this talk, you'll get a practical framework for understanding whether what you're building should be a feature, product, or business, plus concrete funding models at each layer to keep your work going and growing. Research Project for ATProto Ecosystem Brand and User Experience Needs
Hello atproto builders — I’m a long time lurker and first time forum poster. I met some of you at Atmosphere conf in March, but for the most part have been thinking and talking about how I might get involved and support what’s happening here, rather than diving in. It’s been deeply heartening over the last couple years to see this community emerge and all the work so many of you have put in to make Atmosphere conf and all the other great atproto meetups and conferences—and community contribution...

Conference Takeaways
I’m back from ATmosphereConf in Vancouver, and I’m processing what I saw and heard. The atproto developer community could not have been nicer and more welcoming. Here are some takeaways. The…

(2/n) A feature solves one problem well — even delightfully well. But features get copied easily or absorbed into larger products. They have no distribution or adoption model. If your whole thing can become a pane in someone else's app, it's a feature.
New: ATmosphere Report #145, with collections of links to interesting atproto articles for November This time, the links are on-protocol, as a @cosmik.network collection, with a page that lets you follow the conversations on @leaflet.pub and @bsky.app traverse.connectedplaces.online

Launch Announcements @ AtmosphereConf
news.atmosphereconf.orgwe haven't talked much about this publicly, but might as well rip the band aid: "atmosphere" is a generic word and there is no trademark held by anybody in the context of atproto, and would probably be hard to obtain or disputed in any domain. I think that is good, that word should be free
wrote a blog post about a 2015 keynote by @mikecaulfield.bsky.social that stuck with me and how it relates to atproto. with AtmosphereConf right around the corner I wanted to get this (and my next one) out there so it could contribute to the conversation. would be honored if you'd give it a look :)

i'm thinking about making a community space for AT Protocol creators, builders, artists, etc who are trying to find a sustainable path to monetization/funding for their atproto-based/powered projects it seems like a lot of us are in the same boat and sharing info/experiences might be good?
@atpota.to and @dame.is, we were talking about making an ATProto-powered app directory on the community forum and someone found your atproto.garden and some records lying around. Are you interested in sharing your lexicons or talking about what a simple directory lexicon might look like?
