Being in the atproto community, I sometimes forget how enshittified some social apps have become. In the open social web, people will pay for valuable services, *not* to export their data.

adding social features to our websites will accelerate atproto adoption faster than building pure atproto apps

Odoo has this toggle of showing their apps / what apps you can build or replace. They list 40K+ "community apps" And yes, also open source github.com/odoo/odoo With private data, likely good opportunities for atproto, too.

I'm building on atproto because I think that a single social network has essentially no shot of dethroning the current tech monopolies. But an open ecosystem of interoperating apps is so infinitely more interesting than legacy social that it seems almost inevitable it will win
