one killer feature @leaflet.pub could have would be maintaining a calendar with @atmo.rsvp or something right now there are lots of calendar blog options and they mostly suck! being able to provide an easy ical calendar embed for an "event blog" would be huge for organizers!

A simple and powerful platform for social publishing — blogs, newsletters, and more!

Event Aggregator
Hi there 👋 There’s no good one-stop shop to find all the various events happening in a given city, so I’m trying to build one! I’ve got a fairly basic implementation up here. At the moment, it just runs a daily cron that scrapes events from a small set of local Vancouver publications/venue websites then pushes them to a bluesky collection, which the site then fetches and uses to populate the calendar. It supports basic commenting and RSVP functionality via bluesky auth. It’s very...

This is cool, like a mix of blog / digital garden / link log… strikes me that this kind of thing would be *really* good on atproto! Could be a single doc (like a @leaflet.pub looseleaf) & e.g. a new subpage each week, embed links or @semble.so collections, ppl can comment, re-share when updated…

I just published my weekly reflections: docs.google.com/document/d/1xRiCqpy3LMAgEsHdX… Safe as paintball. Infinite focus. Context rot. The betrayal of dumb tools becoming smart. Builders vs coders. Fossilized data. Reclaiming your data. Cooperation as transcendence. The candid aim test. Social alchemy.
Pages now have support for showing links to @semble.so, @bookhive.buzz, @teal.fm (via a 3rd party frontend) and @rocksky.app. Looking into adding support for standard calendar lexicons soon.
i feel like having rich event embeds/blocks and more cross-compatibility could go a long way. maybe a @semble.so collection that automatically compiles all standard.site publications that link to an event??
spaces, meet cliques! how we built a minimal calendar on pear (our permission-enforcing ATProto repo) and what we had to build to get there.
calendar pt. 2: buckets spaces, meet cliques!
habitat.leaflet.pubAs an academic, this is also why I plan to move completely to @leaflet.pub for my website: powerful, easy to use and easy to customize, versatile, no maintenance, and most importantly, *you* keep full control of your data.

For creatives wondering why some of us are switching to or starting to use @leaflet.pub to highlight art, writing, & photography, I encourage you to read @norbertwoehnl.com's post. Side note: I discovered Norbert's photo blog thru @standard-reader.app. norbertwoehnl.com/3mr7le7546s24

Summer of Standard.site - Bluesky
bsky.socialExperimenting with the idea of a fully skeuomorphic @lexicon.community events client that focuses on flyers & posters instead of thumbnails/icons and will be aimed at local groups and venues. Just had fun with procedural-generation of the corkboard background.
