Atproto etsy would be pretty cool i think With a vouch system you could even get rid of all the drop shippers!

Decentralized AirDrop: hand files to people with one string. Gossip announces, blobs transfers, everyone re-serves. CLI + daemon + native macOS app, built on iroh.

i really love building things for atproto and one of the things i like most about it, is that I can basically ignore a lot of the stuff i don't want to have to deal with, like user management and...

Hand files to people with one string. No accounts, no server, no hashes to copy.

This is a very straight forward atproto-business play btw 1. bring (the feature-complete) UnInbox into the atmosphere: put a PDS on it & accept open-social login 2. promptly charge indie teams like mine flat rates (no seats) of $100/yr and up for managed service. Outcompete missiveapp.com/pricing

Note to @mk.gg and @cloudflare-dev.bsky.social DevRel folks: There’s a feature-complete team-mail client called UnInbox that’s no longer in business, but the dev is trying to bring the (self-)hosting costs close to zero, which is the sort of thing Cloudflare excels at 👀 github.com/un/inbox
if any of said open source communities or atproto companies would like to have someone design merch + manage a shop while funding an ecomm-on-atproto experiment, my dms are open! ideal partners would have deep open source roots, believe atproto is the future, and want rad, gender-inclusive merch ✌️
Still seeking: - Decentralized direct-messaging (DM) service - Works with atproto identities - E2EE - Self-hostable / FOSS - Permissionless - Frontend-agnostic / plug-n-play - No blockchain Group messaging would be a bonus. We'd be your github sponsor + public champion.

Bluesky DMs are a centralized service that they run and haven't open sourced. Germ DMs are similarly centralized. If there's ever a DM service that we can self-host and would be interoperable with (work with) other atproto apps or non-Blacksky accounts, we'll swap out Bluesky's.
Self-hosting your own atproto infrastructure is very much attainable and after going through the process, I wanted to do a little series of write ups on how to go about it. Starting with the PDS! jola.dev/posts/self-hosting-your-pds
Self-hosting your PDS
jola.dev"With atproto, any web developer can get, for free, a sign-in system and a place to store stuff. If you don't build for the web, that may sound like no big deal, but trust me that it opens up an enormous range of possibility."
