As Doctorow writes, putting the energy into building up your contact list all over again is not appealing at all and so remain wary of this. Similar reasons not to go all in on Mastodon which wasn't it or any of the other centralized Twitter clones that popped up a year or two ago which have now started to shut down etc.

Sure seems like there’s nothing stopping @ghost.org from hopping on board the AT train now at very low dev cost. Would love for our existing Ghost blog to magically turn @standard.site compatible overnight.

my response to anna's original idea is that handles are already domains, and there should be cool sites there. eg, if you put dril.bsky.social in a browser bar today, you get redirected to bsky.app/profile/dril.bsky.social instead, dril.bsky.social could be a webpage, like linktree (blento is a link app)
“truly own your social identity on bluesky and at protocol” that’s… not how this works — this is just another PDS hosting service, which is great and needed, but it’s not giving people anymore ownership over their identity than having it hosted anywhere else let’s not confuse/mislead people plz
