On the weekly posting users per origin chart on my stats page, there's now a checkbox "Show as % of total". And we've quietly passed a pretty important milestone last month: 1% of all users on the network (making app.bsky posts) were on independent PDSes! New chart on my stats page! 📊 The set of PDSes is manually selected to show those which are open and have enough users to show up at all, I will be updating it over time. I don't have historical post data to count per PDS further than a few weeks back. blue.mackuba.eu/stats/#weekly_pds_chart
W Social has crossed 1k weekly active users in my stats, and getting close to ½ of what Blacksky has… 🫣 blue.mackuba.eu/stats/#weekly_pds_chart
Around 0.5% of weekly active users are on independent PDSes right now, 1.5% if you count @ap.brid.gy - honestly more than I expected 🙂 (blue.mackuba.eu/stats/)

What proportion of total users is that?
LATEST: on #WSocial's website, comment counts for posts by prominent users are incorrectly displayed, showing artificially elevated numbers. @opfuchs.gay came up with an interesting theory for it. blog.elenarossini.compeople love the For You feed, and it shows in the numbers. it generates around 4% of post views inside feeds on Bluesky. that's amazing especially because it's operated by one dev, @spacecowboy17.bsky.social given its popularity, we've decided to give it a bump in visibility on the feeds page.
