NYT Contributors’ Letter
The following was sent to NYT publisher A.G. Sulzberger on Thursday, April 6 2023:
I built a self-hosted 2FA server so I don’t have to trust Google anymore
Why rely on big tech for your 2FA codes when you can be your own provider?

New York Times Issues Stern Warning to Its Freelance Writers About AI Use
On the heels of another AI scandal, The New York Times emailed a "periodic reminder" to freelancers reminding them of the paper's AI policy.

The New York Times neglects accountability after letters call out its anti-trans coverage
The New York Times dismissed as advocacy two open letters with now thousands of signatories that raise concerns about the Times’ well-documented role in a burgeoning culture war against transgender people — a charge punctuated by the publication of a new opinion piece defending children’s author J.K. Rowling against accusations of anti-trans hatred.

Sorry, Sulzberger—NYT’s Anti-Trans ‘News’ Is Neither True Nor Important
Critics aren't asking the New York Times to "skew" or "censor" its trans-related coverage. We're asking the Times to stop skewing it.

Boycott The New York Times
For years The New York Times has relentlessly pushed anti-trans propaganda, playing a significant role in the escalating genocide against us. It's far past time for a call to action: anyone who cares about trans lives must boycott and divest the Times.

How the New York Times lost a defamation trial.
An anonymous source, a “hillbilly ambulance chaser” text message, and the newsroom’s first defamation defeat in this country in more than fifty years.

As I have said for years, the NYT is just Facebook. Same ratcheting effect pushing “moderates” right, same delegation of all editorial authority to fascists who game things by falsely claiming they’re being silenced. Same use of text content to support their actual monetization elsewhere.

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.
The New York Times has always been anti-gay and anti-queer. The few years they pretended to support us around 2015 were an aberration, not the norm. (Source x.com/mynameisjro/status/1395017304…)

these things are perfectly equivalent in every way thank you the new york times
The New York Times is now blocking The Wayback Machine from accessing its articles. That means you'll no longer be able to view archived versions of NYT stories published in 2026 and beyond on archive.org. (All those posts you see tracking changes to NYT headlines and ledes? They relied on WBM).
The feds are doing some Andy Ngo-tier mental gymnastics to conflate Rose City Antifa with Rose City Counterinfo, who does use A/I services. These are two completely separate projects with no relationship or overlap. We addressed these lies last year: bsky.app/profile/torchantifa.bsky.soci…
Torch Antifa Network
Today's statement about "Fighting Back Against Antifa Violence" from the DHS contains a false conspiracy theory about our member crew Rose City Antifa. RCA has not doxed any ICE agents, a fact confirmed by going to the URL DHS conveniently censored from their photo. RCA did not put up this flyer.
The question came up today "When will Bluesky support 2FA for things like passkeys", etc besides email. I've talked about it a bit spread out, but thought I'd do a 🧵 on the lay of the land with auth and 2FA in the atmosphere

Regarding one question from today's atproto x npmx x svelte meetup: npmx.social already supports 2FA with email thanks to @pds.dad 🥳💐
