A bit over a year ago, in the first week of January 2025, I migrated my main Bluesky account to my own PDS on a Netcup VPS. It’s been quite easy to set up using the official installer, and it’s been running pretty much without any problems or maintenance the whole year.

1/X I made an atproto proposal around PDS to PDS repo migration that gets around all of the pain points of account migration today and intentionally builds a migration flow for users to go to the PDS that they want to move to and commence the migration from there.

hello! yeah! quite a lot of PLC progress (and some left to go). Another day, another odd edge case migration thing to troubleshoot. Looks like the entryway updates the user's PLC did doc if on a Bluesky PDS, and it does this by a serviceAuth token. If you migrated back, but did not update your verification method when you moved, you can lock yourself out..
Current events are making it challenging to track MPs and reputable organisations that are permanently migrating to Bluesky. If folks see examples that we need to assess for verification - do let me know. Will limit it largely to politicians, govt orgs and large orgs at the moment for this pass.
