Signing into the Atmosphere is a bit of a lottery. This is a user problem. But it's also a builder problem. The Atmosphere needs a brand identify, a design system, tools for builders to drive broad dev and user adoption. wecanjustdothings.leaflet.pub/3mlv5oijn5s2q #ATmosphere 🌀 #ATproto 🪿

If we’re gonna have login with Atmosphere, do we not need an Atmosphere logo? @renderg.host

news.atmosphereconf.orgInspired by @byarielm.fyi 's design, here's my draft concept for a universal #ATmosphere Account Creation + Sign-In flow. Focused on the simplest #UX , not visual design. Atmosphere Account is now an Atmosphere App. What started as an account provider page is becoming an App Store-style registry for the Atmosphere: project profiles, discovery, screenshots, reviews, updates, and protocol-native records. Check out the explore page: atmosphereaccount.com/explore
Atmosphere Account
atmosphereaccount.comi'm starting a diary on atmospheric login as a way to explore the topic in some depth. our login experience is how everyday folks will form their understanding of what the atmosphere even is—and the design space is super rich. the web may also have some tricks up its sleeve for us...
Atmospheric Login Diary 1: On the Button - the divy zone
divyzone.pckt.blogcan someone get a design/branding grant to give @atmosphere.community a brand that will work for universal login? the goose is a fantastic mascot, it's just not a logo (i.e. it doesn't work on a universal login button). the @ is cool, but not distinct enough. it's also too techie.
bubba says: try Solenoid!
this may run counter to your thinking, which is why I'll suggest it to challenge you: a webwide login should use the Bluesky icon and name, not "atmosphere". Facebook logins never changed to Meta- I think it will be hard to build trust with a "faceless" service as a universal account.
As a community I think we've focus of "what is an atmosphere account?" too much and "what can I do with it?" too little To help with that I've built ATStore, our App Store: - Browse all the Atmosphere Apps - Explore each App's ecosystem - Leave reviews and feedback - Star your favorites

atstore.fyiIt’s a bit of an open secret that a group of us is working on forming an Atmosphere Community Co-op (which we’ll share more about publicly soon!) @roguewave.design created an open collection on @semble.so called Co-operatives. Please do share resources there.

semble.soDid you know we have a new package that helps @atproto.com developers quickly add Atmosphere Waypoints to their apps? Let your users jump around the Atmosphere *their* way: "Open in @mu.social..." "Reply on @anisota.net..." "Inspect on @pds.ls..." Here it is on @npmx.dev: npmx.dev/package/@aturi.to/waypoints
@aturi.to/waypoints - npmx
npmx.devHow can developers better entice more people to join the Atmosphere? I think one potentially fruitful approach is to combine "you have one account you can use to log into lots of things" with "and those lots of things come pre-populated with all your friends." Here, Atmosphere shines.
