How can developers better entice more people to join the Atmosphere? I think one potentially fruitful approach is to combine "you have one account you can use to log into lots of things" with "and those lots of things come pre-populated with all your friends." Here, Atmosphere shines.

Get Together: How to Build a Community with Your People
A practical and heartfelt guide to cultivating a community, online or IRL.Although communities feel magical, they don’t come together by magic. Get Together is a practical and heartfelt guide to cultivating a community. Whether starting a run crew, connecting with fans online, or sparking a movement of K–12 teachers, the secret to getting people together is this: build your community with people, not for them.In Get Together, Bailey Richardson, Kevin Huynh, and Kai Elmer Sotto of People & Company share true stories of everyday people who have created thriving communities, both in person and online. They provide clear steps to untangle the challenge of getting passionate people together, helping individuals and organizations navigate the intricacies of leading a community, including: - How to rally the first people - How to get people talking - How to attract new, authentic folks - How to develop leaders and expand globally. The People & Company team reminds us that we each hold the potential to spark a community. Get Together shows readers that if we join forces—as company and customers, artist and fans, organizer and advocates—we’ll do more together than we ever could alone.
Atmosphere Account
The last social account you'll ever need. One account for all your apps.

another good nugget from #ATmosphere conf delivered by @eclecticcapital.bsky.social: ATProtocol could offer "open enough to scale, closed enough to mean something" ‘the successful outcomes will look more like "guilds" and "collectives" than traditional startups’
ATmosphereConf 2026
atmosphereconf.orgSigning into the Atmosphere is a bit of a lottery. This is a user problem. But it's also a builder problem. The Atmosphere needs a brand identify, a design system, tools for builders to drive broad dev and user adoption. wecanjustdothings.leaflet.pub/3mlv5oijn5s2q #ATmosphere 🌀 #ATproto 🪿

If we’re gonna have login with Atmosphere, do we not need an Atmosphere logo? @renderg.host
As a community I think we've focus of "what is an atmosphere account?" too much and "what can I do with it?" too little To help with that I've built ATStore, our App Store: - Browse all the Atmosphere Apps - Explore each App's ecosystem - Leave reviews and feedback - Star your favorites

atstore.fyimultiple ways of understanding the atmosphere are good - you can store extra stuff in your bluesky account : good - an open file system for your social graph : good - an ocean of possibility created by freeing data from the clutches of big tech : good different approaches reach different people

atstore.fyibasically I really want good ways to surface & recognize people who are meaningful participants in the atmosphere-blogosphere as opposed to e.g. big publishers passively cross-posting b/c they want more reach, but w/o the attendant social engagement that actually makes that valuable for both sides
It’s a bit of an open secret that a group of us is working on forming an Atmosphere Community Co-op (which we’ll share more about publicly soon!) @roguewave.design created an open collection on @semble.so called Co-operatives. Please do share resources there.
Co-operatives (by Rogue Wave Design) — Semble
semble.soOur community has gathered around the concept of Atmosphere. There’s work to do in explaining, culture building, and the concrete task of rallying around a brand / logo, especially around login.

For anyone that has come to a meetup, event, or conference - it’s not faceless. As a community, our goal is to imbue the Atmosphere with feelings and alignment. Designing a logo and brand that grows to mean that is something we need to do together. No one company can carry our flag.
After #Atmosphereconf, I'm left thinking... Should we have a working group for protocol-native community infrastructure? So many people I talked to seem to be on a similar page, I think prolonged conversations would go a long way to designing resilient, people-first communities
The Atmosphere is a rethinking of the Internet, with social connections that you control, built in. It allows you to do more with others, while maintaining more control over your own data and experiences.

& you lose if you say the word "protocol", "decentralized", "repo", or "pds" to illustrate: the cloud is "the thing where i keep my photos when i drop my phone in a lake". if you even mention a "server" while explaining the cloud then you lost the thread
Friends, @pixeline.be has created the latest best way to show off how versatile Atmosphere accounts are. See your whole repo in a grand perspective view. ITS AWESOME. pixeline.be/pds-grandperspective
for atmosphere to be competitive, the cost of running a side project with a few users should be zero. i don’t know who needs to be convinced to make moves to solve this (cloudflare? vercel? etc) and what’s actually the common barrier (ingesting firehose?) but it needs to be super straightforward

yeah i *do* like it too but its actually quite expensive to run as i am doing it currently (not *that* expensive, its like 5-10 bucks/month) and no one is really using it, also i have way to many projects :P preferably bluesky should just add something pretty close to that themselves
