I migrated my self-hosted, self-maintained @standard.site blog over to @leaflet.pub! It was a journey, so I thought I'd share with you how I did it in case you ever want to do the same, or are in the mood to be nerd-sniped into building a migrator. I also explain why I landed on Leaflet...for now.

blogs are back! but why are they different now???
As an academic, this is also why I plan to move completely to @leaflet.pub for my website: powerful, easy to use and easy to customize, versatile, no maintenance, and most importantly, *you* keep full control of your data.

For creatives wondering why some of us are switching to or starting to use @leaflet.pub to highlight art, writing, & photography, I encourage you to read @norbertwoehnl.com's post. Side note: I discovered Norbert's photo blog thru @standard-reader.app. norbertwoehnl.com/3mr7le7546s24
Thank you to the @leaflet.pub team for the push. Looking forward to blogging more this summer.
You are what you read, watch, and listen to ..
inputs-outputs.leaflet.pubHere's a short video I'm hoping to include in my @leaflet.pub blog post at debbieohi.leaflet.pub showing a glimpse of how useful it is to have an Atmosphere account. I will also include a link to @cozylittle.house's excellent non-techie explainer as well, of course! lab.leaflet.pub/3mrq6ma5dgs2x
Ever wanted a blog post you wrote straight to your editor? I've got importing @standard.site posts (well, just @leaflet.pub) into Writer. I was too excited to finish blobs before recording this.

Summer of Standard.site - Bluesky
bsky.socialOk with the help of Claude and the @leaflet.pub team (thanks!) I created a small script that renames leaflet pubs (I used it successfully for my blog but it is Claude-coded so use at your own risk 😇) >

Sorry if this is a noob question but is it possible to change the slug on a @leaflet.pub post to have a meaningful name? eg in blog.cosmik.network/3mndi5x3aw22b "3mndi5x3aw22b" -> "may-2026" Thanks!

I feel like I need to write a blog post gaming this out but adversarial space migration is a different beast than adversarial PDS migration, although it's definitely going to be drama.
