Is anyone building the equivalent of WhatsApp channels on atproto? One use case I keep seeing is I have a bunch of friends who have left IG but now they don't get any notifications bc they're all trapped there. WhatsApp Channels are the next best thing for those using it so they can subscribe

while i've been loudly proclaiming in the atproto devs discord meetings that you probably don't need an appview for your atproto side project, i'm now also working on my own "atproto backend in a bottle" that runs on cloudflare workers 😅 still super WIP, but happy for any early feedback

github.comif atproto adds E2EE messaging support, will be a bunch of questions: would it be integrated directly in client apps (like Bluesky), or be a separate client app experience? would you have per-app chats (for content sharing), or account-level (generic msgs w/ DIDs)? if the later, why not just Germ?
