As well as this, atproto concepts such as DID and PDS are uniquely well-suited to supporting agents, it's a much better future than what big tech is trying to push us into.

it means people’s Muse, Dots, OpenClaws, and other AI assistants are eventually going to be interacting a lot online, and I’d rather see them do it on open protocols with user owned identities rather than in a corporate consortium.

ATProto ideas
If AT Protocol becomes “a meaningful layer of the web” — even if it’s only tens of millions of users — then the winning ideas probably won’t only be futuristic...
Embracing ATProto, part 1: Setting up a PDS
In this series of posts, I'll explore my journey into setting up my workflows and services for atproto. The first step is setting up my PDS. Let's start with a bit of explanation for all this lingo.

Why a New Protocol? The History and Future of AT Protocol - AT Protocol
Bluesky CTO Paul Frazee and Head of Protocol Daniel Holmgren join for a wide-ranging conversation about what atproto is, why it exists, how it got built, and where it's going next. From a Twitter consultancy to an IETF working group, this is where to get started.
I love that the design of atproto was in part inspired by big social Kafka and ScyllaDB server backends and @martin.kleppmann.com's Designing Data-Intensive Applications and the community immediately used it to implement thousands of apps with no backend lol
Why atproto has not been explored by game devs? Saves, collectibles and inventories can all be stored on a PDS Imagine carrying on your character from one game to another or between the same series instalments Storing stuff like CS2 skins on atproto should be a no brainer How cool is that?

Authenticated Transfer Enables Orchestration - nekomimi
blog.nekomimi.petthis is probably going to be unpopular but: I think atproto’s best mainstream opportunity right now is if the AI labs realize that converting all the content on the internet into clean, structured data is way cheaper than scraping + also public and available in a handy dandy jetstream for ingestion

just for fun can we all brainstorm moonshot ways to get people onto the atmosphere
Some thoughts on why ATProto is so exciting from the perspective of what it could unlock software dev wise.
ATProto: Engine of Software 2.0
john.leaflet.pub@danabra.mov do you think it makes sense to frame atproto as providing a data and identity layer to the web, or as aiming to improve the web? I never want to overstep (see crypto claiming web3) but atproto is extremely web-brained like you said, and the web is where a lot of the utility shines
