@eva.town hi! I really like what you did with hypertext.tv - how did you create that old school pixelated effect?

Using CSS to create a CRT
Many of us remember televisions from our childhoods as these flickering glass behemoths. These were CRT TVs and they had a very different look to them than our LCD screens do today. I have attempted to assemble a set of CSS effects to replicate this look mainly by adding three things: screen-door effect, flicker, and color separation. The color separation idea originally came from the hyperpunk theme by Andre Staltz for the hyper terminal. The scanlines and flicker effects came from the CSS CRT screen effect codepen by Lucas Bebber.

Text Rendering Hates You - Faultlore
Rendering text, how hard could it be? As it turns out, incredibly hard! To my knowledge, literally no system renders text “perfectly”. It’s all best-effort, although some efforts are more important than others.

How I Write Alt-Text - 12 Aug 2026 03:30 UTC
‘Alt-text’ is short for alternative text, and is used to convey the substance of visual content as text. It is important for people with visual disabilities, though is beneficial for a wide range of people. It is useful for low-speed connections where an image might not load, for searching for an image, for SEO/AIO/GEO, for cases where a link to an image is broken, for understanding context, and for a variety of other gains.
