I still can't believe @mancity.com had their account self-hosted on their own PDS before I did

Cooperative email infrastructure for PDS operators
LLC is filed (safety mechanism while scaling until we can actually make a co-op), I’m going to migrate my account to my own PDS (better late than never, right?) and then I’ll be able to do some more testing before sharing the code. I’ve also been building a really small little dashboard to help monitor the state of the shared smtp relay for when the time comes! Tryfamilia is an old throwaway domain of mine that I was using to test

Manton Reece - Introducing the Micro.blog PDS
I’ve started rolling out an AT Protocol PDS — personal data server — for new Micro.blog users. In the Bluesky world, a PDS is what stores your posts, follows, photos, and other data from apps. In the same way that creating an account on Micro.blog automatically gives you a fediverse handle, I wanted people to be able to create a Micro.blog account and have everything they needed to sign into Bluesky.

Registering Identity Recovery Keys via PDS, using goat | bryan newbold
One of the big design goals for atproto is for users to "own their network identity". Public Hosted PDS options - created by HilaryBaumann.com
“truly own your social identity on bluesky and at protocol” that’s… not how this works — this is just another PDS hosting service, which is great and needed, but it’s not giving people anymore ownership over their identity than having it hosted anywhere else let’s not confuse/mislead people plz

Top accounts that have moved to (or signed up on) @wsocial.eu PDS:
You can sign up for @inspo.land with your bluesky account! under the hood it creates a new private PDS using bsky for auth still a bit finicky sometimes, so lmk if you run into any issues!
ATProto devs did you know you can use selfhosted.social for users to create brand new accounts on the atmosphere in your applications? Both deckbelcher.com and blento.app uses our PDS. A user's journey into the atmosphere does not always have to be started from Bluesky. It can start from your app.
The thought occurred to me (belatedly) that maybe there are other accounts on the promotional website that aren’t actually on W Social yet. Right now, wsocial.news shows me 4 users who are indeed on W Social and 3 who aren’t: @london.gov.uk, @beate.neos.eu, and @teresaribera.ec.europa.eu.

@london.gov.uk is still on wsocial.news and is still not actually on W Social. It’s been long enough to really make it look like it could be the Greta Thunberg thing all over again Sources: pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:axuvbckddrg7lwlp… blog.elenarossini.com/the-untold-story-about-w-soci…
