My little weekend experiment to bring micro updates to my personal site

OAuth Roadmap · bluesky-social atproto · Discussion #2656
OAuth is nigh! Protocol support has been a long time coming and we are pumped. It should greatly improve the user and developer experiences building secure apps and integrations on atproto. And cou...

Web publishing is facing its next challenge: a new iteration of centralizing platforms. BUT there is also a new wave of open protocols and standards that can help us gain our independence. Next month in NYC we are gathering a group of frontier technologists and popular web publishers to discuss how we can sail into this next platform shift as captains. #ProtocolsForPublishers Learn more and sign up here: https://pfp.unternet.co We will be hosting talks on #atproto #mcp #webapplets and web payments, and give publishers the opportunity to interact directly with developers working on these frontier technologies. Thank you to Unternet, Graze Social, Free our Feeds, and betaworks for their support.

HI @velvetshadow.fr, we're working on it!
Wrote about messing around with @atproto.com and working on automatic syncing of content to @standard.site of my blog (and any blog) Bonus: it's open source and written in Elixir. Work in progress! jola.dev/posts/automatically-syncing-y…

jola.devatproto'd my website a bit further (beyond the @standard.site integration): 1) added a "Right now" box on the homage that pulls in all kinds of atproto activity like @bsky.app posts, @popfeed.social film ratings, @bookhive.buzz reads, @tangled.org repo's etc.

newpublic.orgThis is partly why I think atproto needs a more convincing vision about being a post-app protocol. A future where atproto is a bunch of apps and each app governs their own lexicon diminishes a lot of its potential in the long-term.

yeah i think i might actually, theres a very interesting story here that the main thing that matters is a focal point around which consensus over a lexicon can get formed
Fuck, I should probably add an announcement soon to askeverything.app that it is going to move to ATProto, huh? Gotta warn people that to stay on board the ship, they can't have private profiles anymore...
Sign of a post-app economy forming around atproto

As @awarm.space pointed out in the replies, ‘traffic’ was never the real goal for authors. What we want is for our stuff to be read, and expand-on-click article embeds enables that, with AT-net metrics. The prospect of mutual syndication is the entire premise of our shared presence here on atproto.
What's the intended app/user etiquette for atproto apps with regards to publishing to the same lexicon? Like, say I build an atproto app, would it catch users by surprise if the wrote to the same records (e.g. posts, likes, etc?) that show up in the bsky.app? Or should my app be isolated?
