Holding Hands with the "Fediverse" – ActivityPub at SFO Museum
SFO Museum has joined the “Fediverse”. We have begun to operate a series of automated “bot” accounts that are published using the ActivityPub protocols which can be subscribed to from any client, like Mastodon, that supports those standards. These are automated, low-frequency, accounts and they currently only support a limited set of interactions: Accounts can be followed or unfollowed, individual posts can be “liked”, “boosted” or replied to but those replies will not be answered (yet) or published on the SFO Museum websites. To get started we’ve created three “groups” of accounts: Things which have happened recently involving the SFO Museum Aviation Collection; Things which have happened in the terminals (new and old) and; Things from the collection which are related to flights in and out of SFO.

occurs to me that I haven't seen a single standard.site reader that displays account-level labels of the pubs owner... there's no technical blocker to doing so, right?
THREAD The first full year of tracking research on @bsky.app Hi, we are Altmetric, and we track how research is communicated across the web. We now have one full calendar year of Bluesky research data and thought we'd have a looksie.
ohh I love this direction of activity-specific views! There could also be a "research" view for activity from @margin.at @semble.so etc - would be cool to think how to get the research related bsky activity, maybe from Lea @eugenevinitsky.bsky.social @mariaa.bsky.social
One thing I left out of my The Everything Account piece was a whole section on Bridgy Fed. Short version: As Bridgy Fed adds more lexicons, it makes the Atmosphere the most versatile and data-owning Fediverse instance in the open social web. Perhaps in a future piece 😉
