Added support for Standard.site to cross-posted Bluesky posts. This is a new convention for long-form blogging using the AT Protocol. Initially, you can think of it as extra metadata for your blog posts on Bluesky, with more interoperability between platforms possible later.

Bluesky is a dominating presence in microblogging on ATproto, I just posted from both Mu and Blacksky and they’re both still using app.bsky.feed.post records. But what if there was a community driven standard for microblogging the same way we have one for long-form posting with @standard.site?

There are some questions about this service, especially since it seems to be from Bluesky (the company): -> github.com/bluesky-social/account-info Is this supposed to be a generic atproto service? Does this "promote" or "ossify" the Blueksy account lexicon now deeply into atproto as the canonical "account"?

If you're wondering what this means: blogs that support the protocol Bluesky is built on will soon be embedded in posts on the feed. This is bc of hard work + collaboration b/w @leaflet.pub @pckt.blog & @offprint.app who pioneered a blogging standard for the protocol. But wait, there's more! 1/

Bluesky needs its own complete YC atproto stack - accelerator, seed funding, founder network, investor pipeline, mentorship, demo days, startup discovery ATproto-native, so the ecosystem becomes the distribution, reputation, intelligence, and funding layer for the next generation of open social web

Bluesky is scared to commit to making a universal app that works with any atproto lexicon. I am not. And am pretty committed to our social-app fork being able to work with more and more content types (short video, fintech, blogs, music, etc.) Acorn customers get this for their communities too.

The goal shouldn't be to get journalists and politicians posting on Bluesky, the goal should be to get them to adopt atproto. That requires different tactics, different products, different incentives.
