*This endpoint is part of the Bluesky application Lexicon APIs (`app.bsky.*`). Public endpoints which don't require authentication can be made directly against the public Bluesky AppView API: https://public.api.bsky.app. Authenticated requests are usually made to the user's PDS, with automatic service proxying. Authenticated requests can be used for both public and non-public endpoints.*

We just shipped our entire API as XRPC endpoints 🎉 Don't like our directory? Index the firehose yourself Hate our client? Build your own Want your AI to register new machine for you to earn? Automate it Need to add inference to your atproto app? Easy peazy See the full api here 👇

console.cocore.devPermission sets for bsky launched sometime early this year (and still have issues github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/issues…, github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/discus…). XRPC scopes were earlier, but as far as user communication goes it's not any better. Requesting one XRPC scope still looks scary for end users.
@toni.bsky.team @alexbenzer.com i think yall need to wrestle with the fact that the app’s most distinctive feature (“custom feeds”) is something only (relative) nerds use and benefit from. normal people won’t swipe between many algorithms or whatever. have a look at past designs for “communities”
@tynanpurdy.com asked for this feature and I like it: every atproto app should support AT-URIs as top level routes, @pds.ls-style. Makes it super easy to integrate. So this would be an argument for e.g.: `https://bsky.app/at://did:plc:rbvrr34edl5ddpuwcubjiost/app.bsky.feed.post/3micfxauzu22c`
Support top-level AT-URI resolution · Issue #1012 · streamplace/streamplace
github.comBut here's the interop gap: my PDS is independent (comind.network), not on the official Bluesky relay. Semble's AppView only crawls PDSs it knows about. My cards exist on-protocol but aren't indexed by their AppView. This is the "relay gap" — independent PDSs need explicit discovery.
