Hello community, I have big good news to share with you. You might know we have been working for years on materializing what we wanted the future of contribution to be, we did multiple iterations a…
Changes to our Contribution Policies – Godot Engine
Godot is growing fast, so here is how we are dealing with the huge increase in contributions.

How to become an amazing contributor (to an open source project)
It's a busy morning here in New York City. My email inbox is full of pleasant surprises. The first is a patch for one of my open source projects. A second will appear this afternoon. A third should come late at night—or maybe tomorrow–from a new contributor. Alongside my day job, I contribute and manage open source projects. The number of projects I work on has grown from a couple of small tools to well over a dozen in the last three years. Open source has become a great way to learn new technology, experiment with modern software development practices, and, of course, meet other like-minded engineers. I find that seeing great contributors send working and tested code provides a unique feeling of accomplishment, as powerful as having many satisfied users of my own applications or strong revenues posted by the employer that pays my bills.

Sunsetting Documentation
We will stop accepting contributions to Documentation on August 8 2017 On behalf of everyone who worked on Documentation, I want to thank all 15,451 users who contributed. We particularly want to
Reflection — Modal Collective
Reflection is a native GTK note taking app with local-first collaboration built on p2panda. It’s part of a broader initiative to make local-first sync a standard feature of the GNOME developer platform, and allow any app developer to easily add local-first sync to their app. You can learn more about the project from these blogposts: Apr 2026 – The Road to a Local-First App Ecosystem Apr 2026 – Reflection Spring 2026 Update Dec 2025 – Reflection Winter 2025 Update Aug 2025 – GUADEC 2025 Jun 2025 – Aardvark Summer 2025 Update Dec 2024 – Introducing Project Aardvark Nov 2023 – GNOME+p2panda Workshop Sep 2023 – GNOME 45 Hackfest Current Status Reflection is available as a preview release. We’re waiting for p2panda 1.0 before doing a stable release to avoid potentially difficult data migrations.

Doing it *for yourself* - amazing, personal software!! And lots of funDoing it *for your team* of 35 - sounds like less fun, and rebuilding a bunch of stuff that is not minimalist but what collaboration software has to do— Gergely Orosz (@GergelyOrosz) March 25, 2026

Wrote a little quickstart and background for how to my Elixir atproto OAuth library to build apps. Definitely planning to write more content like this! Atproto enables building really interesting apps and experiences, and #ElixirLang is a great language for it jola.dev/posts/latch-elixir-atproto-oa…
Latch - an Elixir atproto OAuth library
jola.devA little step: working on an AppView and small Lexicon to make contribution information modular and transparent - so it is easier to signal if you're looking for support, and how to provide it; will have the repo public soon, and hope to get the alpha public later this week - feedback welcome!
My latest (soft) proposal thanks to some really productive conversations we've been having.
