Both high-level design principles and implementation guidance for software safety and security are well established and broadly accepted. My agency as a person seeking to read a PDF has very little to do with the PDF file format; I have agency because feature-complete PDF readers are a ubiquitous commodity. The freedom afforded by #ATProto is no freedom at all while Bluesky remains a supermassive singularity within the network.
