I'm pretty sure UCANs are awesome. They're not the easiest thing to understand how to apply, and I need to see how they work out in practice, but I'm excited about the cool things that you can do with them. They've got some cool capabilities. 😉

Are you working with civic open data? Or other kinds of cool data? Reach out! There already are some cool projects for geo/sat and astronomy data — making dataset metadata available and searchable in a decentralised yet unified way — and we want to help more of them emerge!

I'll be talking about @astrosky.eco's nebra package, which makes it super easy to post & stream scientific data on the AT Protocol - including the two month-long tech demo of doing this that we've been running with NASA's astronomical transients feed!

Any big Fediverse users around? In github.com/singi-labs/sifa-workspace/iss… we are exploring how to integrate your Fediverse activity into Sifa and what that could/should look like. If you have any ideas/suggestions/opinions about this, we'd love to hear about them before building.

Some very exciting news - it looks like the working group for AT Protocol at the IETF has been approved! (though not formalized in the datatracker just yet) This is a big milestone in the standards process. But is also just the start of the actual process - years of meetings & work ahead!
