El informe de 90 páginas, titulado “‘Llegaron al infierno’: Tortura y otros abusos contra venezolanos en el Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo de El Salvador”, ofrece un análisis exhaustivo del trato que recibieron estas personas en El Salvador. En marzo y abril de 2025, el gobierno de Estados Unidos envió a 252 venezolanos, entre ellos, decenas de solicitantes de asilo, al Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) en El Salvador, a pesar de informes creíbles sobre graves violaciones de derechos humanos en las prisiones salvadoreñas. Los venezolanos fueron objeto de devolución— el envío de personas a un lugar donde corren peligro de sufrir tortura o persecución—, detención arbitraria, desaparición forzada, tortura, condiciones de detención inhumanas y, en algunos casos, violencia sexual.

Il 26 agosto 2026 il Dipartimento del Tesoro statunitense, tramite OFAC - l’ente che gestisce e applica sanzioni economiche e finanziarie -, ha sanzionato Autistici/Inventati (A/I), collettivo italiano che dal 2001 fornisce infrastrutture digitali a movimenti e attivisti: email, hosting, mailing list, chat, videoconferenze e altri servizi digitali che tutelano la privacy delle utenti. Washington lo ha designato come Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT), sostenendo che avrebbe fornito appoggio economico, materiale o tecnologico al terrorismo e a organizzazioni già soggette a sanzioni. A/I respinge le accuse e ribatte che la propria attività consiste nell’offrire strumenti per l’autodifesa digitale e infrastruttura per la libertà di comunicazione.
