Bridging ORCID into the Fediverse
Changing Tack
It's been almost two years since I made Orca open source, so I thought it would be a good time to reflect on what we've done so far, and introduce some changes in the project's direction.

NeoDB Open Source Software (@neodb@mastodon.online)
🦋 ➡ 🧩 https://bridge.neodb.net started an experiment to bridge reviews from Atmosphere (popfeed.social for now) to #NeoDB in Fediverse (eggplant.place for now) this works similarly to @snarfed.org@snarfed.org 's fed.brid.gy, but will be focusing on culture review related lexicons. still quite early stage so expect some issues. feel free to opt-out your atproto id if you prefer not get bridged. this will be one-directional from atproto to ap, so nothing to worry if you are fedi only.

Web publishing is facing its next challenge: a new iteration of centralizing platforms. BUT there is also a new wave of open protocols and standards that can help us gain our independence. Next month in NYC we are gathering a group of frontier technologists and popular web publishers to discuss how we can sail into this next platform shift as captains. #ProtocolsForPublishers Learn more and sign up here: https://pfp.unternet.co We will be hosting talks on #atproto #mcp #webapplets and web payments, and give publishers the opportunity to interact directly with developers working on these frontier technologies. Thank you to Unternet, Graze Social, Free our Feeds, and betaworks for their support.

atproto.comNice! So I built the integration this morning and it's ready for testing: sifa.id/faq/orcid @juanesteban.art did a first test and it all seems to be working, but some extra eyes to iron out the rough edges would be very welcome! 🙏
