ATmosphere technology to support organizing and activism
I’m working on a post about anti-surveillance organizing and activism on decentralized social networks, and one of the points I’m going to make is that the ATmosphere offers a lot of Innovative and very useful functionality for organizers that doesn’t exist on centralized social networks today, and complements decentralized implementations of classic social network activism tools like blogs, newsletters, microblogging, live-streaming, etc. Here’s some of the examples I have so far … custom f...

It supports basic commenting and RSVP functionality via bluesky auth. It’s very...

I'm going to be participating in the Growing the Open Social Web workshop at Fediforum on March 2, 2026. I'm excited to talk to other people who care about the Fediverse about ways to connect more people through ActivityPub. Fediforum invited attendees to publish position papers before the workshop. SWF has a number of hypotheses…

@danabra.mov nerdsniped me into building a small communities-on-bsky experiment: atmo.garden how it works: - create a community on atmo.garden e.g. atproto, will automatically create an acc: @atproto.atmo.garden - send DMs of bsky post to that acc and they will get reposted or quoted by that acc
i feel like having rich event embeds/blocks and more cross-compatibility could go a long way. maybe a @semble.so collection that automatically compiles all standard.site publications that link to an event??
Yes, it's true! @brittanyellich.com crushed it in shipping a v0.1 version of a new community hub at atmosphere.community Features: @standard.site aggregation powered by @opensocial.community, group calendar, regional communities etc etc etc
