The fediverse isn't done! Or, at least, that's the opinions of ActivityPub co-authors Christine Lemmer-Webber and Jessica Tallon! Discover how we could improve the fediverse with ActivityPub-compatible improvements to add more robust and secure communication/cooperation patterns, decentralized storage and identity, etc! Plus: how Spritely is starting to apply its technology towards exactly this goal, bringing Spritely's next-generation internet tech to the fediverse!
Fediverse
The Fediverse is a collection of social networking services that can communicate with each other using a common protocol. Users of different websites can send and receive status updates, multimedia files and other data across the network. The term Fediverse is a portmanteau of federation and universe.

Hey folks, we at [Distributed Press](https://distributed.press) have been working on making a bridge between peer to peer or "dweb" protocols and ActivityPub implementations over the past year and wanted to solidify our approach so that others can interoperate. Here's is an initial draft expla...
Agentic Fediverse | Muni Town | Weird.One
The "Agentic Fediverse" is the idea of a new kind of network federation, a complementary iteration on the concept of federation currently established with ActivityPub. It's an experiment and something that we in Muni Town are still trying to define more concretely.

maegul (@maegul@hachyderm.io)
I think the #Ghost and #Wordpress federations pose interesting questions about what #fediverse platforms can and should be. Do we actually want blogs and feeds of blogs folded into a mastodon/microblog social feed? Do we want to read and comment on blogs on mastodon? Do we want all the diversity of the fediverse fed into a single platform's UI and hope that it works well? Are we worried that some choices by our platform or instance admin might hinder this process? I'm rather skeptical. 1/
On the coordination for better moderation systems
There is a need for better moderation systems on the fediverse. But getting people to coordinate to build and adopt such systems is proving to be a challenge.
