I want to talk about Discord. Not about all the issues like privacy, accessibility, performance. No, the good things. The part where it completely revolutionized the internet. And how it will destroy it all.
Made a simple Discord bot for the userandagents.com community which archives all messages and links from users who opt-in to a specific role, so we can distill into a model ( aggregate community brain) or make daily link digests or etc and whatnot. github.com/autonome/phenomena

github.comI think the ideal discord-alternative would have a self-hosted instance per community (so a "server" really is a server), but all speaking a shared protocol so you can have them all in the sidebar of a unified client. Then you just need unified identity across all servers... atproto solves this???
