1/X I made an atproto proposal around PDS to PDS repo migration that gets around all of the pain points of account migration today and intentionally builds a migration flow for users to go to the PDS that they want to move to and commence the migration from there.

github.comHappy to see @wsocial.eu making this move. I may disagree with a lot of what they do, but this is a big step in the right direction, especially as their tool supports outward migrations too. I'm also pleased to see the "give me a recovery key" option. Every PDS should have this on sign-up too.

The migration tool is ready. You can now move your account to W from any AT Protocol provider, and out of W to any other. Fully automated, both directions. Your handle, your followers, your posts. They all come with you. Moving in still needs an invite code. Moving out never will.
