Introducing Sequoia: Publishing for the Open Web
Today I'm excited to release a new tool for the AT Protocol: Sequoia. This is a CLI tool that can take your existing self-hosted blog and publish it to the ATmosphere using Standard.site lexicons.

AT Protocol Development, Tech Talks, and Events
If you're wondering what this means: blogs that support the protocol Bluesky is built on will soon be embedded in posts on the feed. This is bc of hard work + collaboration b/w @leaflet.pub @pckt.blog & @offprint.app who pioneered a blogging standard for the protocol. But wait, there's more! 1/

✨ Atmosphere devs ✨ Bluesky is integrating Standard Site, and our initial work should be released in the next few days. Here's what that means for publishers and apps in the ecosystem: github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/discus… If you have questions or comments, please leave them on the GitHub Discussion thread!
I realized something missing with most ATmosphere blog platforms: #IndieWeb #Webmention support, the successor to pingback. The old pingback was a big factor that helped explode blogging in the late 90s and 00s. Tagging @offprint.app @pckt.blog @leaflet.pub @lemma.pub @skypress.blog #Mochott. 🖖🏽
This is what “everything ecosystem” means. Bluesky isn’t going to build a longform blogging service. What they can do with longform (and many other atproto apps) is use the shared formats of the atmosphere to enhance the experience and interaction with your content, wherever you like to post.
