Let's talk about a system for universal data discovery, that doesn't depend on any single institution staying funded or online.
Matadisco — Decentralized Data Discovery
An open, decentralized network for data discovery built on ATProto. Publish metadata, build portals, find data.

🪩 Introducing matadisco.org! — a way to discover open datasets via #atproto that doesn't depend on any single institution staying online. 🕺🏼 We have more public data than ever (satellite imagery, climate models, genomic sequences), but finding it is still painfully hard. https://matadisco.org

Introducing ATProto Science - Cosmik Labs
Announcing atproto.science! #ATproto has huge potential for supporting new ways of doing research, so we started @atproto.science to help bring together researchers, build community, and explore what's possible when science meets cutting-edge open social network protocols! 🧪 >
The Atproto Spaces Alpha is Live - AT Protocol
Atproto Spaces, formerly known as “the permissioned data protocol,” is a new extension to atproto that enables non-public data. The alpha is now officially open. Here’s how to develop with it and what to expect as we work towards the full release.

@masnick.com I’m listening to your interview with @reckless.bsky.social. This third party doctrine is interesting. Do you think that atproto data would be considered properly owned by the account individual? Would be interesting implications if that public data fall under search and seizure rights.
Well, atproto *is* an open protocol so... I'm looking into an excension of the schema to allow accounts that are declaring that they're automated to optionally declare details about that automation, including an operator, a purpose, even an interaction model. Aids in both discovery and moderation!
