Kicking off a little side project for automatically discovering content through blog post feeds and syncing to atproto and standard.site.

Putting my Neocities blog on ATProto
If this works, I'll be very happy. UPDATE: It worked!

The space for blogging and long-form writing on atproto is rapidly developing, and it gives some interesting insight in what decentralisation on atproto looks like

Welcome to the new atproto.com - AT Protocol

Neznam Atproto Share Plugin — WordPress.com
This plugin enables automatic posting of articles to ATProto networks like BlueSky. Also, it enables the display of comments from the ATProto network below the post as comments.
This blog is on ATProto
This blog and its posts are now on ATProto, the data backend that powers Bluesky. To what end, I couldn't say just yet. I'm just playing around. This didn't involve any changes whatsoever to the website that you're looking at. It just means that when I publish a new post I also write a new record into my Personal Data Server (PDS) which includes the post's title, publication timestamp, and a URL. This gets slurped off by ATProto relays that subscribe to me and if there's anybody who cares about my posts, they get to find out about it more or less in realtime.
My blog is all ATProto-powered -- you can click most records to see where they're hosted on my PDS. My website (cameron.stream) now: - Shows my @leaflet.pub articles - @at.fund endorsements - @margin.at annotations - @semble.so collections fuckin love atproto dude
Wrote about messing around with @atproto.com and working on automatic syncing of content to @standard.site of my blog (and any blog) Bonus: it's open source and written in Elixir. Work in progress! jola.dev/posts/automatically-syncing-y…
Automatically syncing your blog to atproto and standard.site | jola.dev
jola.devThis is cool, like a mix of blog / digital garden / link log… strikes me that this kind of thing would be *really* good on atproto! Could be a single doc (like a @leaflet.pub looseleaf) & e.g. a new subpage each week, embed links or @semble.so collections, ppl can comment, re-share when updated…
Alex Komoroske
I just published my weekly reflections: docs.google.com/document/d/1xRiCqpy3LMAgEsHdX… Safe as paintball. Infinite focus. Context rot. The betrayal of dumb tools becoming smart. Builders vs coders. Fossilized data. Reclaiming your data. Cooperation as transcendence. The candid aim test. Social alchemy.
One thing I look for in a blogging platform (whether atproto or otherwise): a way of backing up/exporting my content. This is more important to me than being able to tweak design/fonts etc. Have learned this from hard experience; I've used manymany blogging platforms over the decades.
