Writing this makes me irrationally sad, but Ghostty will be leaving GitHub1.
Why I'm leaving GitHub for Forgejo | Jorijn Schrijvershof
I left GitHub for self-hosted Forgejo on a hardened NUC. The reason is digital sovereignty, not reliability outages. Here's the thinking and the architecture.

Ghostty
Ghostty is a fast, feature-rich, and cross-platform terminal emulator that uses platform-native UI and GPU acceleration.

Migrating from GitHub to Codeberg ⚡ Zig Programming Language
Ever since git init ten years ago, Zig has been hosted on GitHub. Unfortunately, when it sold out to Microsoft, the clock started ticking. “Please just give me 5 years before everything goes to shit,” I thought to myself. And here we are, 7 years later, living on borrowed time.
Why Ghostty is written in Zig (not Rust or Go)

A GitHub Issue Title Compromised 4,000 Developer Machines
A prompt injection in a GitHub issue triggered a chain reaction that ended with 4,000 developers getting OpenClaw installed without consent. The attack composes well-understood vulnerabilities into something new: one AI tool bootstrapping another.

A big part of Github's stickiness is the social proof + resume of your activity history. Is there an easy omni-identity that combines your GitHub, Gitlab, @tangled.org, and @radicle.dev activity into a single view? Might lower the risk of starting new repos on emerging platforms.
Sure seems like there’s nothing stopping @ghost.org from hopping on board the AT train now at very low dev cost. Would love for our existing Ghost blog to magically turn @standard.site compatible overnight.

My first Leaflet!! You can now publish TO @standard.site lexicons from @astro.build sites using my new plugin! As sites like @pckt.blog and @leaflet.pub and @offprint.app add support for the site.standard lexicon, this plugin will let you publish to and pull from those other sites! #atproto #atdev
