Use plain text email
There are two main types of emails on the internet: plain text and HTML. Many people, particularly in technical communities, strongly prefer or even require the use of plain text email from participants. However, your mail client may not have it set up by default. We'll help you get it configured, and introduce you to the norms and conventions of plain text email.

Instead of figuring out how to game these horrible social media algorithms by flooding my followers with dumb content, I’m trying to actually respect my audience for once by creating an email list to contact you only when I want something from you. For example, if I’m performing live in your area and I want to you to come, or if I have a new comedy special out and I want you to click on it, or beam it into your brain or whatever the comedy platform of the future will be. Oh, I like this part > No AI-generated text in human-to-human communication > When our maintainers volunteer their time to review your issue, PR, or proposal, they do not want to talk to a machine. This is a basic principle of respect. https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@godotengine/116839550229253906
Clarifying: I feel like we just invented email addresses. And they’re tricky, I get it. But I’m pushing back on “wtf is the @ symbol even, nobody knows what ‘inbox’ or ‘smtp’ is, stop making it hard for normies” Instead of making atproto invisible, what if we made it worth the learning curve?

If your goal is to make atproto accessible to non-technical users I implore you to stop calling them “normies”

I think a huge value add here would be to have these pages periodically query for new info and create new versions of the pages, along with a notification (maybe on Bluesky or over email for visibility). A manual refresh button would be a good start! cc @jay.bsky.team @pfrazee.com
