Computers now work the way I thought they did when I was 8. What does computing look like when most applications have an audience of 1-2 people? I'm leaving Fly.io to build a phone for that world.
Desktop, Touch, Browser, Now AI? The Next OS in Computing
Explore how AI is reshaping human-computer interaction, from command lines to modern SaaS. Key insights on the next computing paradigm for startups and tech leaders.
Hello, Operator!
Part of the WonderOS project, this is presented as the operating manual that would come with the reader’s first machine running WonderOS. It is an exercise in exploring how people familiar with mainstream personal computing devices and systems would become computer literate in an itemized environment. It is written as though the reader is familiar with today’s mainstream operating systems, and is exploring their first itemized OS.
The Invisible OS
THE INVISIBLE OS – Every massive consumer technology business is selling the same thing: the removal of thought. In the end, convenience always wins. Dishwashers automated hours of domestic chores. GPS externalized our spatial memory. Calculators offloaded routine arithmetic. The pattern acceler...

The Interfaces With Which We Think
The concepts in modern operating systems — apps, windows, desktops, notifications, and so on — have so permeated our understanding of personal computing, it’s hard to imagine anything else, let alone believe there could be anything better.
operating system
An operating system is a piece of software that most crucially handles the interoperability between hardware and software as well as between different software programs.
Finally, Our Own OS – Oh Yes!
At last – we’ve done it! I’ve anticipated this day for ages – the day when the first commercially available mass market hardware device based our own secure operating system landed on my desk.

Linux Took Over the Web. Now, It's Taking Over the World
25 years after Linus Torvalds unveiled Linux, the free operating system is still finding new uses.

Feeling of Computing — Conversations
Basic | The Personal Computing Platform
We build products, tools, and standards to make computers more personal.

Why Microsoft needed to make Windows run Linux software
And how it could leapfrog Apple as the dev platform of choice.

Feeling of Computing
Feeling of Computing is an online community with a welcoming, cooperative, and revolutionary spirit. We are unified in the belief that the computer is tragically less humane than it could be. There’s a world of possibilities that get more beautiful the further away from the norm you go. We’re here to explore this world together, to discuss ideas about theory and practice, and to champion and support our members’ research and development efforts to reimagine the computer.

What does OSWorld tell us about AI’s ability to use computers?
We review OSWorld, a prominent computer use benchmark. Tasks are relatively simple, many don’t require GUIs, and success often hinges on interpreting ambiguous instructions. The benchmark is also not stable over time.
