Hey guys, I think it’s time for me to share my project here. I’ve been working on this idea since last year, had a very cold launch in January, and have reached a point of stability where I’m confident the app is ready for the mainstream. Open Market is an aggregator (think of Google Shopping) aiming to help people promote their products, art, or anything they plan to sell. This includes used goods and pretty much anything else. (2/n) A feature solves one problem well — even delightfully well. But features get copied easily or absorbed into larger products. They have no distribution or adoption model. If your whole thing can become a pane in someone else's app, it's a feature.

Note to @mk.gg and @cloudflare-dev.bsky.social DevRel folks: There’s a feature-complete team-mail client called UnInbox that’s no longer in business, but the dev is trying to bring the (self-)hosting costs close to zero, which is the sort of thing Cloudflare excels at 👀 github.com/un/inbox
if any of said open source communities or atproto companies would like to have someone design merch + manage a shop while funding an ecomm-on-atproto experiment, my dms are open! ideal partners would have deep open source roots, believe atproto is the future, and want rad, gender-inclusive merch ✌️
Are there any atproto apps that use records from competitors? This ecosystem won't feel open to me until @bsky.app uses something from outside the `app.bsky` namespace as part of its core experience
Atproto etsy would be pretty cool i think With a vouch system you could even get rid of all the drop shippers!
