bluesky has always offered protocol services for devs— the relay, jetstream, and the bluesky api are the main ones. but until today those haven't really had a proper home. the crew as been working hard, and there's (even) more here than meets the eye, let's break this down!!

bsky.networkI think bsky should be funding more PLC related community projects. It should be possible to spin up a PLC mirror and download all of it at line rate. Right now, the /export endpoint is usable, but unnecessarily slow. Archived bulk op exports stored in object storage would help but aren’t cheap.

Been thinking about plc.directory as a single-point-of-failure So as a learning exercise, I threw together DIDMARC - an example of an independent witness for the directory 🔍 This approach uses Starknet to be fully trustless, but a trusted mirror could perform similar checks to identify abuse

bsky.networkbuilt an atproto terminal ui for setting up alternative plc rotation keys. there are two types of keys. hardware-based: no sync software-based: synced via icloud is anyone interested in this?
