MD Thermochrome by Mass-Driver - Future Fonts
Our written world is made from little dots: little dots of ink from a printer; phosphors or pixels on a screen; blackened thermal paper on a sales receipt. MD Thermochrome is a typeface designed around little dots. It’s not a faithful mimicry of any single printing technique, but an allusion to several — the coarse grid of dot-matrix printers, the visible scanlines of CRT terminal fonts, the varying dot size of over- and under-inked documents from any number of technologies. Built on a consistent (but not quite square) grid, Thermochrome features five discrete italic angles (Upright, Italic, Inclined, Retalic, Reclined), eight weights, and over 100 icons and symbols.

PaperS3 is a uniquely designed low-power touch-enabled e-ink screen main control device launched by M5Stack. The controller uses the ESP32-S3. The front of the device is embedded with a 960 x 540 @ 4.7" (touch and screen integrated) e-ink display, supporting 16-level grayscale display. Paired with the GT911 capacitive touch panel, it supports two-point touch and various gesture operations. Compared to previous products, PaperS3 adopts a full-screen structure. Compared to ordinary LCD screens, e-ink screens not only provide users with a better text reading experience but also offer advantages such as low power consumption and image retention when powered off.

A recent NYT piece argued we need a mental fitness revolution to combat the cognitive decay caused by algorithmic feeds and generative AI. It's an efficient one-two punch. If you're not brainrotting on short form video content, you're outsourcing all of your thinking to an LLM. The result is a kind of cognitive strip-mining. What's left requires active defense. For me, one way of defending that capacity for deep work is with a pen on e-ink. Whether it's annotating a paper or starting a sketch from scratch, I'm intentionally making room for focused thought. My army of clawed Claudes and Codexes will just have to wait.
inkOS - Minimalist Android Launcher
inkOS is different from other minimalist android launchers because it's optimized for e-ink, keypad and qwerty phones. Almost all of the interface is operable with D-pad, so touch input is optional. It removes all animations and replaces smooth scrolling with discrete, paged navigation, making it comfortable for users who are sensitive to motion and ideal for slow-refresh e-ink displays. To reduce distraction and app hopping, inkOS surfaces notifications directly on the launcher, letting you stay informed without constantly opening apps.

American Innovation $1 Coins honoring innovation in Wisconsin Coins minted at the United States Mints in Philadelphia and Denver Available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags The United States Mint American Innovation $1 Coin Program is a multi-year series honoring innovation and innovators with $1 coins from each state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands. The American Innovation $1 Coins in the rolls and bags were minted at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The Wisconsin coin is the second of 2026. The Wisconsin American Innovation $1 Coin reverse (tails) design features the Cray-1, the first commercially successful supercomputer. Built from 1976 – 1982, it was known as the world’s fastest computer. The Cray-1’s unique circular design helped increase the speeds at which signals travel from one part of the computer to the other. This design exhibits a stylized aerial view of the Cray-1 supercomputer. The image emphasizes the Cray-1 not only through its shape, but by also suggesting the shape of a “C” for Cray-1 and “computer.” Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “WISCONSIN.” The additional inscription is “CRAY-1 SUPERCOMPUTER.” The obverse (heads) design features a dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty in profile with the inscriptions “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “$1.” The design also includes a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation. In 2026, the privy mark will also incorporate a Liberty Bell with the inscription “250” to commemorate the semiquincentennial of our Nation’s founding. The year of minting, mint mark, and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” are incused on the edge of the coins.
