babesky.pckt.blogover time as business models and extraction points move up and down the stack. i think em's answer might be the most realistic one in 2026-- the entirety the ATP userbase mandatorily moderated by (or acc to the standards of) bsky that thinks of it all as "bsky apps" is on the bsky platform, i think.
Current platforms are trying to be the only place you hangout. In the real world, we call that a trap. Bluesky is a distribution engine — we send people to off platform experiences. Go read that blog on @beehiiv.com or watch the livestream on @stream.place.
I know we care about numbers, and it's not that they're not worth looking at, but maybe Bluesky not having explosive growth is good for the Atmosphere that's building beyond it, and patience is more important than the first attempt gathering every community possible in its early years. Long game.
